JUNIOR CHRISTMAS HANDICAP
Held on a club night just before Christmas, this unique event gives our juniors runners an equal shot at glory, thanks to a carefully calculated handicap system that levels the playing field across ages and abilities.
Similar to Senior Handicap the junior version runners take on a single perimeter loop of Thornes Park. It’s a race that have provides a spotlight on our younger athletes giving them a chance to shine at Christmas!
The Christmas Handicap is more than just a race — it’s a celebration of community, tradition, and the joy of running together. Even in 2020, when Covid restrictions turned it into a virtual event, the spirit of the race endured.
CURRENT CHAMPION 2025 – TOMMY HASTINGS
Tommy Hastings won the latest edition of the Christmas handicap winning the race in a new record time of 10.10. A total of 16 runners took part in another fantastic end of year event for the club.
