
YORKSHIRE CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP 2026

RACE REPORT:
The club had a good turnout of young athletes at Lightwater Valley for this years Championships.
The first race of the day was the U13girls with Niamh Sykes finishing in 18th place in a strong field.
The under 13 Boys were next to go and they all ran very well with Will Thornton 4th, Henry McFarlane 5th, Oliver Hastings 41st, and Lochlan Ruddock 47th. The team finished in 4th place overall, with Will and Henry gaining County selection.
Thomas Hastings led the u15 boys home for the second successive year taking the county title, backed up by Sydney Swan in 12th, and James Smith in 32nd. The team finished in 5th place.
Making her Debut in this event was Bella Tutt, and she became Yorkshire u17 ladies Champion at her first attempt, winning comfortably by 20 seconds with teammate Sylvie Ellis finishing 23rd.
Will, Henry, Tommy and Bella gained selection for the Yorkshire Team to run at the UK Inter Counties championships Wollaton Park Nottingham on March 7th.
