A team of Wakefield Harriers ladies made the trip to Wakefield’s twined city Castes in France to compete in the annual Ronde Givree Auchan, An event that the club have enjoyed and competed in over many years.

Wakefield Harriers Ladies delivered a strong team performance in the challenging 4-leg relay event. The team finished 98th overall with a total time of 4 hours, 54 minutes, and 33 seconds, crossing the line together as the third ladies team and only missing out on second place by 26 seconds. The breakdown of each leg is below.

  • Stage 1 (13.32 km): Alex Potter set a solid pace for the team, completing her leg in 1:05:01, placing 169th in the stage.
  • Stage 2 (16.14 km): Angela Dales maintained that momentum with a time of 1:24:36, bringing the team in 183rd.
  • Stage 3 (11.09 km): Helen Beck delivered an impressive performance, finishing her stage in 54 minutes and 12 seconds, putting the team in 67th before the last leg.
  • Stage 4 (16.99 km): Nicola Steel closed the race with determination, completing her leg in 1:30:44 and securing 101st place. This also secured her third fastest female on this leg!
